Natus Vincere Sweeps First Annual Na`Vi Awards

Professional Dota 2 team Natus Vincere has won 100% of the categories at the first annual Na`Vi Awards, or NVAs. The awards ceremony was held in Kiev, Ukraine and was judged by an impartial panel of D2CL administrators and support staff.

Na`Vi veterans Danil “Dendi” Ishutin and Alexander “XBOCT” Dashkevich took home three and four NVAs respectively, including Hottest Sister and Best Forehead.

Na`Vi, whose team manager already won Best Manager at D2CL Finals, was able to defeat Chinese team HGT for the Black and Yellow Logo award, and its North American branch Na`Vi US also found success, taking the Team That Currently Has Korok category.

In the closest vote, Gleb “Funn1k” Grace Lipatnikov narrowly edged out fellow Na`Vi teammate Ivan “Vanskor” Skorokhod to win the Grand Theft Empire award.

“The Funn1k acquisition hurt Empire more,” said Na`Vi CEO and NVA panelist Alexander “ZeroGravity” Kokhanovsky who also won Coolest CEO. “Their fans seemed almost ready for Vanskor leaving, so it was not as fun.”

He added, “Maybe next year we will take two players.”

Artem “Fng” Barhack won the Best Support With 1-3 Character ID That Starts With Letter F and Isn’t on Vici award. For undisclosed reasons, Fng could not attend the ceremony, but fortunately Artur “Goblak” Kostenko was able to accept the award on his behalf.

Former Na`Vi captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov was nominated twice for the Tallest Drafter category, where Na`Vi Puppey defeated Team Secret Puppey to win the award. D2CL analysts concluded that Ivanov had shrunk nearly 1.25 inches in height due to the heavy strain on his back from carrying his Na`Vi teammates during TI4.
