DreamLeague to Use Stand-In Staff for Season 2
— October 17, 2014DreamLeague has announced its intentions to replace administrator Robert “Nukes” Larsson and project manager Christian “Hellspawn” Lord in an effort to maintain fairness with other tournaments that have professional scheduling.
The announcement may be in response to the recent controversy incited by Team Tinker captain Sam “BuLba” Sosale, who is best known for refusing to fulfill a promise to castrate himself following a loss.
“I’m not saying that Team Tinker’s players and manager are entirely to blame,” said Hellspawn in an exclusive press release with JoinDota. “I’m just saying everyone is at fault except for us. Even the community. If more of them watched, we’d be able to hire better admins.”
DreamLeague has also indicated that any potential Season 2 stand-in administrators must meet a high standard of job qualifications.
“We’re looking for people who can read a calendar beyond one week in the future,” said one official. “But most importantly, we’re looking for someone that the players and Reddit don’t currently hate.”
He added, “please still buy our ticket.”
DreamLeague has also modified their tournament ruleset to ensure a more “fair and balanced” treatment of all potential scheduling situations:
1. Other tournaments may not schedule matches before or during DreamLeague
2. Participating teams are banned from making scheduling complaints
3. Team managers are prohibited from releasing chat logs
4. DreamLeague will respond to released chat logs with their own press release, or “stand-in chat log” out of fairness
Sources say DreamLeague is considering running an Administration Qualifier to determine Larsson’s replacement. The tournament winner would need to successfully schedule the qualifier itself, which already began last Thursday.
