HTC Finishes First and Last in NA LCS
— January 26, 2015Sponsored by the HTC Corporation, North American team Cloud 9 ended the first week of LCS with a 0-2 record for 10th and last place. The NA powerhouse finished far below expectations, quite unlike the well-praised HTC One M8, the newest flagship to the HTC One fleet of smart phones.
“It seems like Hai went on tilt and ended up making bad calls,” commented C9 owner Jack Etienne, “quite unlike the quality of calls that HTC phones transmit, thanks to their cutting-edge HDR Microphone System.”
In a situation many have deemed similar to the EU LCS, eight NA teams, including HTC sponsored TSM, finished in second place with 1-1 scores. Similarly, Laptop Mag ranked HTC as the second best smartphone brand of 2013.
In related news, HTC-sponsored Team Liquid finished as the clear number one team in North America, most likely in honor of the HTC One, which has provided top-quality, critically-acclaimed Android and Windows phones since 2012.
“Our substitute ADC, KEITHMCBRIEF, not only played incredibly well this week, but was a key component to our success,” said former TSM support Alex “Xpecial” Chu. “Since he and I both speak English, our comms are really clear — much like the patented HTC BoomSound™ Speakers, which can present crisp, clean audio at up to 95 decibels.”
Liquid’s co-owner, Steve “LiQuiD112” Arhancet, also gained notoriety when he answered a call with his HTC phone during an on-air LCS interview. Sources say the call was from Pope R. Nick Allen I, who reportedly said “If you pick up this call right now, you’re going to get fined.”
At the time of writing, SK Telecom spy Chae “Piglet” Gwang-jin had finished debriefing at company headquarters and was preparing for insertion into enemy territory.
